IMMEDIATE FUTURE PLAN
In order to make our society a ? better place to live in?, we are starting up a campaign of ? SAY NO TO PLASTICS?. For this we are engaging a poor person to make jute bags for distribution to shops in our locality. This will also help the person to earn his livelihood .
PERMANENT ACTIVITIES:
Education:
Lions Club OF Ghato Valley is successfully running a school since 1981, which caters to the educational needs of ?Tiny Tots? of the locality. The school named ?TINY TOTS? consists of three classes (Prenursery, Nursery and Lower Kinder Garden) and is having a present strength of 109 students. We have four dedicated teachers to look after the ?Specific? educational & behavioural needs of the children, which go a long way in shaping up our society. .
We have a plan of expanding the school, for which construction of an additional classroom has already commenced.
Evening Classes for poor, needy and underprivileged:
Lions Club of Ghato Valley in close association with ?Joint Departmental Council? of Coal Beneficiation Group of West Bokaro Division is running evening classes for around 230 poor, needy and underprivileged children. The classes are held every day from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm (except Sundays) for which around 40 dedicated ladies of West Bokaro Family render their unconditional support for this noble cause.
Sponsoring the poor and needy for school studies:
Lions Club of Ghato Valley has started paying school fee of three poor and deserving students.
We believe that the above-mentioned small steps of ours will make a great impact on the society that we belong to. This belief of ours acts as a great motivational force to strengthen our motto of ?WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE?.
Immunization Programme:
The club supports the vaccination of children through our Central Hospital. Every month around 450 ? 500 children are benefited by this.
OTHER ACTIVITIES:
Health Camps ?
Every year we organise two ? three health camps in areas in and around West Bokaro wherein free medicines are distributed to needy persons.
Eye Cure Camp ?
The club distributes free blankets and goggles to all patient attending the eye cure camp. On an average we distribute to around 100 patients every year.
AIDS Awareness Programmes ?
The club organises two ? three AIDS awareness programmes for enhancing the awareness of the inhabitants residing in and around West Bokaro.
Drinking Water Arrangements ?
Every year during summer the club makes arrangements for drinking water to quench the thirst of the thirsty. We also distribute ?GUR? and ?CHANA? free along with water to the thirsty. The ?PYAUE? is centrally located at our ?MAIN CHOWK? where maximum people can avail this benefit.
